Commission E-Dispora Discuss Athlete Coaching System

City DPRD's Commission E, held a joint meeting along with Jakarta Youth and Sport Dept. to discuss the athlete coaching system in the capital.

After entering retirement, do not let them be abandoned

According to Syahrial, Chairperson of City DPRD's Commission E, the meeting was held to get certainty about the future of the athlete after ending their career in the sport.

"After entering retirement, do not let them be abandoned," he expressed, at City Council building, Tuesday (2/27).

By so, he urged that Gubernatorial Regulation on the Improvement of Regional Sports Achievement (PPOD) being compiled by Jakarta Legal Bureau with Youth and Sport Dept. (Dispora) could guarantee the future development of athletes.

At the same place, Jakarta Youth and Sport Dept. Head, Ratiyono agreed there must be social security from the government for athletes after ending his career.

Jakarta Provincial Government would implement the Regulation of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucracy Reform (Permenpan RB) on the Appointment of National Achieving Athletes to Civil Servants (PNS).

"So for those who won the gold medal from the SEA Games Kuala Lumpur for example, they can be directly civil servants," he said.
